Cwmtaf - October 2009

A cold October weekend in the Brecon Beacons. The 3 season sleeping bags didnt quite cut it making the nights quite cold, not helped by the large tent we were using. Even so, a great weekend of walking!

Nice campsite, very nice lady running the campsite office.

General Weather: Rain on 1st evening, very windy night. Rain up till lunchtime on the Saturday morning, then just cloud, sunny intervals and moderate wind. Cold nights due to limited cloud cover.

Saturday – walk around town/shops, short walk on way back to campsite

Weather:
Sunny patches with light cloud, quite windy but overall good weather.

Notes: Planned walk from Storey Arms car park, Lots of people on way up to Corn Du, then once on to Pen y Fan etc, saw hardly anyone. Did watch 4x4s crossing over a bridle way. Last hour was dark so glad we had head torches!
