Glyntawe - April 2011

This was our first wild camp in the Breacon Beacons. A 3 day hike with 2 nights high camping by lakes around Fan Hir
Area/National Park: Brecon Beacons

Campsite: Dan-yr-Ogof Caravan and Camping Park
Abercrave, Swansea, SA9 1GJ

Didn't use campsite as wild camping - parking £3 per night (per car)

General Weather: Really nice weather for time of year, no rain, lots of sun, needed sun cream!

Notes: 3 days camping weekend with Dan Bass. First wild camping of 2 nights.

Finds: Lancaster Crash Site and Memorial - SN 828 238

Tent - Vaude Taurus II
Summary:
Friday – Drive down after lunch and walked to first camp location - arrived when dark
Saturday – walked to 2 geocahche points and to 2nd camp location
Sunday – walked back to car and returned home.

Weather:
Nice weather but cool and breezy on way up to Fan Hir

Notes: Planned walk from campsite where left car. Short walk to 1st nights wild camp, Pitched in the dark and cooked dinner.

Found - GCQHJH - Bronze Circles And A Lancaster
Found - GCRMTC - Kites in Flight

Weather:
Very sunny and warm, shorts and t-shirts most of the time.

Notes: No major planned walk, but used Geocache points as main waypoints to the 2nd nights camp location

Unfound - GCG2AM - Llyn y Fan Fach

Weather:
Very sunny and warm, shorts and t-shirts most of the time.

Notes: Last days walk was via an unfound geocache point, en route back to the car. Very tired and hard work for last few miles
