Monyash - July 2010

A 4 day group camp with the girlfriends/wives. Not much walking but we did manage to escape for 1 day to climb Kinder Scout

Area/National Park: Peak District
Campsite: Lathkill Dale Campsite
Monyash, Bakewell, DE45 1JH

Quite a poor campsite, dirty toilets and showers. Limited facilities bearing in mind the campsite was very full at the weekend – Seemed a very noisy campsite. Cheap but not worth going back.
General Weather: Mixture of sun, wind and rain! Managed to stay dry and warm.
Notes: 4 days camping with Dan and Gemma Bass after their wedding. Rachel’s first camping trip – went well!
Finds: Had Go Ape booked in Buxton which was good but didn’t really see anything worth going back for.
Equipment:
Tent - Vango TBS Equinox 600
Summary:
Wednesday – Drive down early, go ape, pitch tent
Thursday – walked around Buxton, Heights of Abraham
Friday – Long walk - got very wet but waterproofs worked well
Saturday – walked around Bakewell, returned home
